I have a wide experience within the beauty industry. I have been a qualified therapist for nearly 26 years working with clients, managing a team of trainers working for Skin by Sterex, also teaching beauty therapy & electrolysis in further education. I have a very broad knowledge of beauty therapy; however, my passion is with electrolysis knowing that I can provide a permanent solution to people who suffer the despair of unwanted hair.
I am at present working in my clinic based in Welling. I’ve had my business 18 years and have invested many hours there. I love my working environment it never feels like work, for me it’s a chance to be helpful and do the things I love.
I believe that life is about constant learning and developing skills, I attend workshops and refresher courses to update my skills to maintain industry standards to provide the best service possible. This allows me to educate clients with current industry changes, providing the theory behind the service to ensure complete understanding.
I feel my experience in education with a Cert Ed (teaching) D32, 33 (assessor) & D34 (internal verifier) qualification, plus my clinical experience with both electrolysis and advanced electrolysis would be of benefit to the board.Deborah Jones,
My clinic was approved as a VTCT training centre, this would be a great venue for the BIAE to provide courses, exams etc. I am willing to share my knowledge and experience to the BIAE.
I studied electrolysis at Chichester College of Technology where I qualified in1980.
I developed a passion for the treatment and the benefits it brought to my clients and was encouraged to join the then Institute of Electrolysis by one of my lecturers whilst practicing as a beauty therapist. I opened my first salon in 1987 where I sought to develop my skills in electrolysis and encouraged and developed my staff to work as competent electrolysists.
I have maintained regular professional development and retook the BIAE entrance examination in 2009, sat the BIAE Advanced Electrolysis course and the refresher, and have further enhanced my knowledge of electrolysis through regular update training.
In July 2016 I celebrated 25 years in business as a beauty salon proprietor and specialist in electrolysis. A key factor in my business success has been my specialisation and development as an electrolysist.
My experience has made me acutely aware that there is some misunderstanding among the general public about electrolysis, its benefits and, how to differentiate between practitioners.
I believe that it is important to promote a better understanding of our discipline and promote electrolysis as a treatment of choice in its areas of application and challenge poor practice and misunderstandings.
I believe the BIAE has a pivotal role in driving forward the agenda for electrolysis and would like to offer my experience, enthusiasm and, expertise as a board member to promote our profession to the public and emphasise the importance of properly trained and skilled electrolysists.Enid Maunder,
Frances joined the BIAE in 2010 and has been a board member since 2012.

Frances obtained her teaching qualification in 1999 and worked in Further Education for 9 years teaching electrolysis for qualifications including ITEC, BTEC, City & Guilds and VTCT.
Since teaching, Frances has focused on building her own business based in Lancashire, and believes her success is due to the tremendous volume of clients that have found her through the BIAE register of members.Frances Martin,
